East Harding Renovates Historic Buildings

East Harding Construction has renovated several historic buildings listed on the National Registry of Historic Places right here in Arkansas.

One of which was the Union Deltic Building in Downtown El Dorado.  With 60,000 sq ft spanning six floors, this anchor to downtown El Dorado’s historic town square houses the corporate office for the Murphy Foundation and Deltic Timber Corporation, among others.

This $5.5 million comprehensive renovation included a replacement of the mechanical and electrical systems entirely and renovations of every floor while the building was fully occupied.

East Harding Construction also renovated the historic Arkansas Gazette & Federal Reserve buildings for the eStem Public Charter Schools making these historical buildings not only a part of the past but a fulfilling part of the educational future of Arkansas.

eStem Public Charter School (10-12)

eSTEM is a college preparatory environment focusing on the study of the Economics related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, using the Arkansas core curriculum.  The second phase of the eSTEM Public Charter Schools is the renovation of the historic Federal Reserve Building in Downtown Little Rock.

The former Federal Reserve Building, built in 1924, was renovated with the intent to retain the historic details and merge the state-of-the-art educational facilities available today.  If you take a tour, you might not see the gun tower in the lobby, but you would find the original massive bank vault still in place in the basement.

Each of the 24 classrooms, science labs, computer labs, library, and arts center are equipped with audio/visual systems including ceiling-mounted, interactive projectors that have 3-D capability.

This project was a fast-track, design-build project for the Arkansas Education Reform Foundation.

University of the Ozarks-Tennis Smart Courts

University of the Ozarks-Tennis Smart Courts

University of the Ozarks Update-The first slabs for the new tennis courts have been poured.  There were three slabs poured this week, two of which were for the “Smart Courts”. These courts will be especially beneficial because they will evaluate & train tennis players using HD cameras and extensive technology.  The courts will be programmed to identify a particular type of practice activity, such as forehand or top spin swings and let the players know if they miss where they were supposed to hit the ball.  The system uses analytical algorithms to record speed, trajectory, strokes, ect…  It will easily enhance any player’s game and prove to be an asset to the University.

East Harding is proud to announce that the construction of the new University of the Ozarks tennis courts is now underway. The project will consist of eight fully lit, competition size courts, two of which will be “Smart Courts” and six of which will be “Live Courts”. There will also be an outbuilding for restrooms and storage. This project will be an impressive addition to the already thriving university and we are thrilled to be a part of its growth.
