Monticello High Tennis Courts
The three new tennis courts at Monticello High School are asphalted and the fence poles have been set. We are currently pouring sidewalks around the courts and look forward to the fence going up soon. Great Job Team!
UALR Southern Tail Walk Through
On Wednesday, East Harding Construction hosted a walk through of one of our job sites for the UALR intro to construction class. The students tour one jobsite each week to learn about the materials and methods used on commercial building sites.
The East Harding Construction site they toured was Southern Tail Brewing in Little Rock. This job site was chosen due to its unique construction method using a combination of metal building, wood framing and conventional steel. Jack Whitley, Project Manager, Patrick Booth, Sr. Site Superintendent and Dashaun Hammond, Site Superintendent, guided the students through each section of the build, answered questions and offered insites into a career in construction. Mitzi Skinner, Health & Safety Director was also onsite to discuss the importance of safety on a jobsite.
East Harding Construction is proud to be a JOC for the University of Arkansas System and to support the future of construction through education and interactive experiences such as this jobsite tour.
NAWIC Fall Conference
Friday evening was the kickoff for the 2023 National Association of Women in Construction Conference. The Conference was held in Little Rock and hosted by the Greater Little Rock, AR Chapter #12.
In the spirit of Halloween, each Chapter wore costumes. Our Chapter dressed as OSHA Inspectors and won the Scariest Costume Contest. Mitzi Skinner, EHC Health & Safety Director, attended the event and made the scariest OSHA Inspector of them all, as she did a mock write up of a couple of ladies for not having their exams!
Boom Lift Refresher Course
As safety is always at the forefront of everything we do here at East Harding Construction, our superintendents spent time refreshing their Boom Lift skills on Friday. Brandon Meadows & Tom Pierson of Sunbelt Rentals spoke about the responsibilities and safe operation of Boom Lifts including Pre-start inspections; Workplace inspections; Hazards involved in operating; and Preventing accidents in the workplace. Our superintendents received hands-on operation training on actual equipment, which is invaluable.

UA-Pine Bluff | Hazzard Gym
Dashaun Hammond, East Harding Construction Site Superintendent, a 2019 graduate of the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff, was interviewed recently by students of the UAPB Television Practicum class regarding our recent completion of exterior renovations to the UAPB Hazzard Gymnasium. Mr. Rashaun Trammell, Instructor, coached his students through the videography and interview process as Dashaun discussed the work performed on the 1952-era building, that included a new roof, new exterior metal panels, new storefront glass, new exterior doors, downspouts and minor site improvements that greatly enhanced the gymnasium and that prepared it for future interior improvements.

Allegiant Medplex
Very exciting update for Allegiant Medplex, Monticello…
Insulation board is installed and being coated with waterproofing. Brick insulation board is also up. This project is really taking shape! Great job Team!
