Education Projects | K-12

East Harding Construction has a long and diverse history in building and renovating K-12 educational facilities.  We have built schools and performed extensive repairs/renovations throughout Arkansas.

We serve as Construction Manager of Record for the Pine Blufff School District, Dollarway School District, Watson Chapel School District, Fordyce School District and Camden School District.

Watson Chapel School District

Edgewood Elementary

Watson Chapel School District voters approved a millage increase to build the new K-1 Elementary School, replacing the 56-year old Edgewood Elementary.  East Harding Construction managed the Preconstruction Phase and worked closely with school officials to ensure the success of the campaign.

Four hundred and fifty kindergartners and first graders moved into the new 50,000 sf school exactly on schedule.

The new school features classrooms, computer labs, library and media center, fine arts, kitchen, cafeteria with performance stage, administration, nurse’s station, counseling, special education, teacher resource room, and teacher lounge and sophisticated security camera and access control to protect students, faculty and staff.

Farmington Competition Basketball Arena

& Performing Arts Theater

As evidence of East Harding’s ability to be very cost competitive, when lump-sums bids were opened for this $10.4 million project at the Farmington School District, East Harding’s bid was the lowest among the eleven local and regional construction firms competing for the project. However, East Harding’s cost competitiveness did not mean service and quality would be compromised.   Both the District and the Project Architect have commended East Harding for the personal attention, thoroughness, and quality with which this project has been completed — on schedule, despite 47 weather days, and on budget for the first games on January 16th.

The 74,819 sf facility included a 600-Seat Performing Arts Center with Surround Sound, Practice Rooms for Band, Choir & Drama, a Sound Control Room, 1,600 Seat Basketball/Volleyball Area with Locker Rooms for Varsity & Junior Varsity, a Concession Area, Offices for Coaching Staff & a Weight Training Area.

eSTEM Public Charter Schools | 10-12

National Register of Historic Places

eSTEM is a college preparatory environment focusing on the study of the Economics related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, using the Arkansas core curriculum.  The second phase of the eSTEM Public Charter Schools is the renovation of the historic Federal Reserve Building in Downtown Little Rock. The former Federal Reserve Building, built in 1924, was renovated with the intent to retain the historic details and merge the state-of-the-art educational facilities available today.  If you take a tour, you might not see the gun tower in the lobby, but you would find the original massive bank vault still in place in the basement. Each of the 24 classrooms, science labs, computer labs, library and arts center are equipped with audio/visual systems including ceiling-mounted, interactive projectors that have 3-D capability. This project was a fast-track, design-build project for the Arkansas Education Reform Foundation.
