House of Prayer

A 1,800 sf wooden structure located in a wooded area designed for meditation and prayer for people of all religions. Designed to maximize acoustics as part of the building’s purpose. The Meditation Room’s walls are rounded, stained birch-veneer and multi-layered wooden ceiling. At the ceiling’s peak, a clerestory window is set directly over a 48-inch circle of exposed earth rimmed by granite… to connect earth and sky.
Awarded ‘2008 Design Merit Award’ by Faith & Form Magazine and The Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art, and Architecture, the two most distinguished and well-read publications for ‘sacred architecture.’
