Formerly known as the Robert E. Lee School, this historic building is now the Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1906 and reconstructed in 2005, this unique structure will undergo extensive renovations.

East Harding Construction was awarded this project based on an RFQ process. The Ph. 1 renovation includes all public spaces on the Main Floor, meeting rooms, restrooms and new audio-visual. Ph. 2 will include water-proofing of the building exterior below-grade, and the creation of a “Small Business Entrepreneurship Facility” in the full basement.

Our House is a shelter, learning center, and childcare center for the working homeless, both individuals and family. The 12,700 sf facility includes two dormitories, a commercial kitchen, full laundry facilities and a common area.

Donald W. Reynolds Grant Project:

The addition of 7 cabins, a new infirmary and an ADA accessible swimming pool with pavilion and bathhouse for Camp Aldersgate, a camp for children with disabilities, youth and senior adults.

Awarded 2008 Associated Business and Contractors (ABC) Arkansas Chapter “Award of Excellence” for Institutional Project in $5-$10 million Range.

In addition, East Harding is currently constructing the new 6,000 sf activity center.  Scheduled completion is May 2016.

The new Museum of Discovery|Donald W. Reynolds Science Center in Little Rock’s River Market opened January 2012—after a total makeover including moving the front entrance, adding 6,000 sf for “The Great Hall” (the reception area), a new theater, conference room, a full kitchen, and classrooms. 85 new exhibits including “Tornado Alley Theatre,” 18 live animal habitats, and the “WOW Gallery” to house traveling exhibits (opening with “Dinosaur Discoveries” from New York’s American Museum of Natural History).

June 11th was the grand opening for the CareLink Peggy and Joe Hastings Respite Center – a Meals-On-Wheels kitchen and Eldercare day facility. The 20,000 sf renovation of the former grocery store includes 7,500 sf kitchen facilities with 2 freezers, refrigerator, dry storage, et al. The Center also provides a multi-purpose room, a dining room, office space, laundry. The new kitchen is designed to prepare 5,000 meals a day – 5 times the amount of the former kitchen.

CareLink helps homebound older Arkansans receive services that allow them to stay at home as long as possible, avoiding more costly care. CareLink also helps active older people stay fit, healthy and involved with senior centers, wellness programs, and volunteer opportunities. Located at 2100 Pike Ave, North Little Rock, the new facility is contributing to the revitalization of the Baring Cross area of North Little Rock. USGBC LEED Silver Certified Building Project

Better Community Development, Inc.’s EmPowerment Center, a new state-of-the-art, LEED-certified, residential substance abuse treatment facility, was completed September 2012. The 19,500-square-foot, sustainable complex includes men’s and women’s residential facilities, including 30 rooms for special needs individuals, and 24 treatment beds for individuals enrolled in substance addiction treatment. The EmPowerment Center also contains office, conference, and classroom space, and will provide life skills training, career, and technology training, community programs, and other empowerment services.

This project is a key component of the 12th Street Revitalization master plan.
