First Arkansas Bank & Trust (FAB&T) opened its new branch and mortgage center in Sherwood boasting a modern design and energy effciency.  The two-story, 10,427 sf facility features a number of sustainable features:

• Lots of windows for natural lighting
• Roof elements designed to minimize heat island effect and heat gain
• “Cool Roof” to keep the building cooler and resist heat collection
• Carpet tiles made from recycled backing and fibers
• High efficiency lighting and occupancy controls
• Millwork utilized eucalyptus wood — has a fast growth rate and is a great renewable wood

Two renovations were completed…the Main Bank (38,000 sf) and the West Branch both in Jacksonville.  This was accomplished in phases while the Banks were open for business.

All three floors of the Main Bank were remodeled, including the main teller line, creating new offices for the loan and trust department, infill of a structural steel floor and added two conference rooms.

At the West Branch, we remodeled the teller and office areas, updated restrooms and revamped an area for a Call Center.  This renovation showcased lots of windows for natural lighting, roof elements designed to minimize the heat island effect and heat gain, “Cool Roof” to keep the building cooler, and several other energy saving elements.

This 7,412 sf, one-story building, was completed 2.5% under budget and opened for business on schedule after 7 months of construction.

In addition to five branch banks, one warehouse, and corporate housing, East Harding was the Construction Manager for their new corporate offices – 32,000 sf building designed with state-of-the-art technology. This impressive structure showcases porcelain paver floors, cherry wood paneling, and an arched ceiling walkway throughout.
