UA – Little Rock | Center for Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences

East Harding is very proud to be a part of the team that built the new Center for Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

This was a three-phase project to construct the five floor, 50,000 sf, steel frame laboratory and research building. Phase I was the sitework and central utility plant upgrade. Phase II was the foundation, core and shell and rooftop garden. Phase III was the building interiors, including research labs, support spaces, teaching labs, classrooms, and a 100-seat auditorium.

The building is LEED Gold certified, fully commissioned and implemented Governor Beebe’s Mentor-Protege Program to increase Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation in the project.

City of Little Rock | 12th Street Station

The new construction of a 44,000 sf, 2-story, multipurpose facility that houses the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) major crimes and patrol divisions, a public atrium and five commercial lease spaces.

This project included a Community Safe Room, a secure sally port, detention/holding cells, training room, briefing rooms, evidence room, and more. The second floor is a raised floor HVAC system to maximize flexibility and energy efficiency.

$500,000 was returned as savings to the City of Little Rock.

Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church

USGBC LEED Certified Green Building Project

Phase I included a new 3-level, 66,000 sf renovation and addition providing 27 new classrooms; an indoor playroom; multi-purpose assembly hall with electronic audio-visual capabilities; and a 2-level parking deck with a sky-bridge connecting the buildings.

Phase II included the remodel of the main building’s first floor; renovation of the Children’s Building; and an addition to the Administration Building. An additional sky-bridge was added to connect the buildings.

Phase III included the addition of the “Gathering Hall” between two existing buildings, fully enclosing an open area; the addition of a sky bridge, elevator and energy-efficient windows. The HVAC system was also replaced, all while church was in full operation.

Sustainability / LEED

East Harding has constructed twelve USGBC LEED certified projects.

Sustainable Design and Construction integrates site location, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources and indoor environmental quality very early into the design and construction process. The benefits to our clients are higher efficiency lighting and HVAC systems, lower utility bills, lower maintenance costs, better on-site water management, more efficient building water systems, improved indoor air quality, as well as improved employee health and productivity.

East Harding incorporates these sustainable criteria into every project and, best of all, your project does not need to be LEED or Green Globe-certified to be energy efficient with a lower cost of operations and maintenance over the life-cycle of your building.
