BKD Update | September 2022

MOVING DAY is near! The newly designed office space on the 15th & 16th floors of the Stephens’ building in Little Rock is ready for it’s new tenants. BKD, a national CPA and advisory firm, is set to take over the space and make this beautiful new office home.

Furnished with Steelcase desks and chairs, each work station has an under desk file cabinet which doubles as extra seating for visitors.

There are also private seating nooks scattered about with views over looking the city and open meeting spaces with a contemporary design.

The panoramic view of downtown Little Rock makes this project one of my favorites!

As Construction Manager, East Harding Construction, excavated an area and poured the concrete for two new portable buildings to be used as a classrooms.

The beautiful new Pine Bluff Main Library is in the final stages.  With only a few punch list items and some paving and landscape left, we expect the interior to start filling up with furniture, books, computers, wall decor and all the accessories that will make this library an even more extraordinary place to read, research, learn or just spend some downtime.

Can’t wait to see you there!

Fourth of July Fireworks

The first fireworks were used as early as 200 BC. The tradition of setting off fireworks on the 4 of July began in Philadelphia on July 4, 1777, during the first organized celebration of Independence Day. Ship’s cannon fired a 13-gun salute in honor of the 13 colonies. The Pennsylvania Evening Post reported: “at night there was a grand exhibition of fireworks (which began and concluded with thirteen rockets) on the Commons, and the city was beautifully illuminated.” That same night, the Sons of Liberty set off fireworks over Boston Common.
